It still feels a little surreal to write this, but here we are — three of my shows are now streaming across multiple platforms. Runaway with Mel and Sharing with Mel are officially available on Stash, Relay, and Fawesome TV, while It’s Pretty Good with Mel joins them on Relay and Fawesome.

When I left my full-time job, I knew I was betting on myself in a way I never before had done. I didn’t know exactly how things would unfold, but I knew I was ready to create work that reflected my voice, my community, and my curiosity about the world. Now, seeing all three of these shows reach new audiences feels like the first visible bloom of seeds that have been quietly growing all year.

Each of these series started as an idea rooted in storytelling — different formats, but one mission: to highlight culture, connection, and real-life experiences that deserve to be seen and heard.

Runaway with Mel was born out of my love for travel and a desire to go beyond the surface. I wanted to show places like Curaçao and the Dominican Republic through a lens that celebrates history, food, and resilience — not just beaches and resorts. Shooting that first episode completely solo, camera in hand, taught me more about persistence than any classroom ever could.

Then there’s Sharing with Mel, which started as a digital platform to uplift underrepresented voices and has now evolved into full-length storytelling with pieces like Planet Brooklyn. It’s a project that reminds me why I fell in love with journalism in the first place — the chance to listen, learn, and amplify the stories that matter.

And of course, It’s Pretty Good with Mel — my food and culture series — continues to be a love letter to the way food brings people together. The debut episode, It’s a Trini Ting, was even featured at the first-ever Caribbean Film Festival in Trinidad earlier this year, which still feels like a dream. Every episode reminds me that culture isn’t just tasted — it’s lived.

As we near the end of 2025, I’m feeling deeply grateful. This year has been one of building brick by brick, idea by idea. Some days it has been hard to see the progress in real time but moments like this remind me that growth often happens quietly, then all at once.

My hope is that these platforms help more people discover the stories I’ve been pouring into with my heart. And if you’ve been here since the beginning, or are just tuning in now, thank you. The journey continues, and I have a feeling this is only the beginning of what’s to come.
