If you know me, you know I absolutely love ice cream. And here’s the funny thing... I’m not even a “sweets” person. There are only a handful kinds of cookies, cakes, and candies I'll eat. BUT ice cream is my soft spot. It’s comfort in a cone, happiness in a scoop, and the one treat I can never resist.
Whenever I travel—different states, different cities, different countries—I always make it my mission to taste the local ice cream. It’s become my little tradition. Some people collect postcards. I collect scoops. Each one tells a story of the place, the people, and the flavors they celebrate.
But recently, I had a thought: why wait until I get on a plane to go searching for ice cream? I live in New York, one of the most diverse and creative food scenes in the world. There are gems tucked away on street corners, family-owned shops with recipes passed down through generations, and new makers reimagining what ice cream can be.
So, I’m launching a new mission: to find the best ice cream shops right here in my area. From neighborhood classics to the spots you’ve probably never heard of, I’m going to check them out, share my experience, and yes—give my honest rating.
